2000: Entered India by acquiring the consulting arm of EY.

2001: Opened the Group’s first offshore delivery centre in Mumbai with 250 engineers.

2003: Crossed the milestone of 1,000 talents in India.

2004: Expanded its footprint further by starting operations in Bengaluru.

2005: Received the prestigious CMMI level-five certification, the first in the entire Group.

2006: Ventured into Kolkata. Acquired Indigo, Hindustan Unilever’s shared services division.

2007: Acquired Kanbay, strengthening expertise in financial services.

2010: Acquired Thesys, enhancing its capabilities in the country.
 

2014: Reached an incredible milestone, crossing 50,000 talents.

2015: Acquired IGATE, surpassing 100,000 talents in India.

2016: Received its first Guinness World Record for the ‘Largest Bollywood Dance Lesson’, with 4,276 India employees participating.

2016: Inaugurated its Airoli campus in Mumbai.

2016: Applied Innovation Exchange (AIE) set up in Mumbai followed by Hyderabad.

2016: Adopted a new brand identity.

2017: Received its second Guinness World record for the ‘Most People Exercising to a Fitness Video at Multiple Venues’, with 4,930 employees participating in the ‘ROAR’ event.

2019: Pledged to plant 100,000 saplings for the 100,000 seconds of music performed live by Capgemini in India’s band, Rubberband, under the HISTREE challenge.

2020: On April 15, acquired Altran, strengthening Capgemini’s engineering services and increasing its headcount to 125,000+

2021: In June, Capgemini set up 5G lab in Mumbai—its first in Asia and third globally.

2021: Capgemini reached 150,000 talents in India.

2022: Launched the Energy Command Centre (ECC) in Bengaluru, driving a 29% reduction in energy consumption across India campuses and saving 25 GWh of electricity.

2022: Sponsored Rugby 7s in India to strengthen its commitment to D&I, on and off the field.

2023: Transitioned to 100 percent renewable energy (RE), powering all India offices.

2023: Installed state-of-the-art ‘Battery Energy Storage Solution’ (BESS) across India to store excess solar energy during the day and use during evening peak hours.

2023: Inaugurated its 6G lab in Gurugram, India.

2024: Opened a new office in GIFT City, Gandhinagar.

2025: Capgemini expanded its partnership with India Rugby Football Union (IRFU) by becoming the transformation partner for India’s first-ever Rugby Premier League.
